Payroll Specialist – 12 month Fixed-Term

About the role
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our client’s finance team in Gatwick on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is central to delivering accurate and timely payroll processing within a highly regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
- Enter payroll data accurately into Workday and meet all payroll deadlines.
- Provide first‑line support on the Payroll Services Helpdesk via email, phone and ticketing system.
- Liaise with HR, Reward and Benefits teams to verify data integrity.
- Prepare, check and process manual payments and statutory payments such as Maternity, Paternity, Parental and Sick Pay.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and suggest process improvements.
- Maintain compliance with HMRC legislation and stay updated on regulatory changes.
Required profile
- Proven payroll experience in a similar‑sized organisation.
- Strong numeracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Relevant payroll qualification or studying towards one is highly desirable.
Required skills
- Workday payroll software.
- Microsoft Outlook.
- Microsoft Excel (lookups, formulas, pivot tables).
- Microsoft Word.
