Payroll Specialist – End‑to‑End Payroll Management (Hybrid)

About the role

This permanent, part‑time position offers a hybrid working pattern for an experienced Payroll Specialist. You will own the full monthly payroll cycle for a Bristol‑based organisation, handling around 200 employees across two payrolls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end monthly payroll, including starters, leavers and contractual changes.
• Process statutory payments such as SSP, SMP and pensions.
• Handle overtime, travel expenses and other additional payments.
• Prepare and submit RTI filings, ensuring full legislative compliance.
• Perform manual payroll calculations and maintain payroll journals.
• Reconcile payroll with finance, update staffing and cost allocation schedules.
• Act as the payroll subject‑matter expert within the finance function.

Required profile

• Proven experience of end‑to‑end payroll processing for a similar sized workforce.
• Hands‑on experience with Sage Payroll (strongly preferred) and familiarity with Sage Accounts.
• Thorough knowledge of UK payroll legislation and manual payroll environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with confidence in payroll accounting and journal posting.
