Payroll Specialist – London

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a leading consumer retail business in Central London on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract. You will manage payroll operations for thousands of employees across multiple continents while supporting the rollout of the new Dayforce payroll system.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Global Payroll Manager with the global Dayforce implementation, leading training and transition activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes, systems and policies, incorporating best practices.
• Support new business initiatives that affect payroll processes and systems.
• Update team policies and procedures to align with the new system.
• Manage relationships with international payroll bureaus to ensure compliance and value.
• Oversee team development, workload planning, recruitment and onboarding.
• Assist with benefits enhancements and payroll‑related journal entries.

Required profile

• 10+ years of payroll experience in a large, international organisation.
• Proven people‑management skills with a track record of developing teams.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, change‑driven environment.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
• Background in high‑volume retail or hospitality payroll.
