Payroll Specialist – £30-35K pro rata

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join an established manufacturing group in Poole. Working closely with the Payroll Manager and Financial Controller, you will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for a large workforce across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly and monthly payrolls for up to 450 employees.
• Collate and process timesheets, overtime, starters, leavers and payroll changes.
• Handle statutory elements such as SSP, SMP, pensions and ensure HMRC compliance.
• Prepare payroll journals, assist with year‑end activities and submit P11D/P11D(b) forms.
• Produce P60s and P45s and manage related documentation.
• Process employee expenses (manual and computerized) and resolve queries with credit‑card providers and staff.

Required profile

• Proficient in payroll processing with solid knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong Excel and excellent data‑entry abilities.
• Some understanding of accounts processes is advantageous.
• Self‑motivated, problem‑solver, professional and friendly.
