Payroll Specialist - UK & Expat Payroll

About the role

Met T&S, the global employment company of MAIRE group, is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage UK and expatriate payroll activities in Hammersmith, London. The role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing while staying compliant with payroll legislation and company policies. It is a permanent position with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely UK monthly payroll, including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), PAYE, National Insurance, student loans and auto-enrolment pensions, in line with HMRC regulations.
• Manage the payroll lifecycle: new starters, leavers, salary changes, adjustments and year-end processes such as P60, P11D and P11D(b).
• Administer UK and expatriate payrolls (inbound and outbound), including coordination and validation of shadow payrolls.
• Partner with Global Mobility, HR, Finance and the payroll provider to deliver accurate, compliant payroll.
• Process expatriate inputs such as allowances, benefits, retention bonuses, leave records, pensions, deductions and final settlements, and ensure correct treatment of benefits-in-kind, salary sacrifice schemes and taxable/non-taxable payments.
• Review and validate calculations, reconciliations, reports and outputs, and prepare payroll reports to support internal and external audits.
• Act as a payroll subject matter expert, advising employees on payslips, deductions and benefits, and support onboarding and offboarding.
• Maintain compliance with UK tax, social security, auto-enrolment and UK GDPR requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in UK payroll administration and operations, with at least 3 years preferred.
• Experience managing expatriate, international or shadow payrolls.
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, statutory payments and year-end reporting.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
• CIPP qualification highly desirable.
