Payroller – Sage Payroll (Part‑time / Full‑time)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Payroller to support a small‑to‑medium enterprise during the rollout of a new payroll system. The role can be taken on a part‑time or full‑time basis with flexible hours, on a temporary (5‑6 week) contract.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the end‑to‑end payroll process using Sage Payroll.
• Enter employee hours, deductions, benefits and other payroll components accurately.
• Process weekly salary payments, tax deductions and statutory contributions on schedule.
• Manage payroll‑related accounts payable and reconcile payroll accounts regularly.
• Maintain comprehensive payroll records in line with organisational policies and legal requirements.
• Analyse payroll data to spot and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with HR to update employee information for new hires, terminations or status changes.
• Assist with internal audits and prepare payroll reports for management review.
• Stay up‑to‑date with legislation affecting payroll processing and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and efficiency in handling large volumes of payroll data.
• Experience managing payroll for around 300 employees on a weekly basis.
• Good understanding of payroll regulations and statutory requirements in the UK.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
