Peer Coordinator – Maternity Cover (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Peer Coordinator to cover a maternity leave within the NHS‑commissioned RECONNECT service. The role is fully remote and supports people leaving prison to access health and wellbeing services across the East of England.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and supervise Peer Support Workers, Peer Mentors and volunteers.
• Facilitate training sessions, workshops and volunteering pathways.
• Coordinate peer activities across custodial and community settings.
• Maintain accurate service data and records.
• Embed lived experience throughout the service and support peer development.

Required profile

• Lived experience of the criminal justice system, substance use and/or physical or mental health challenges.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with prisons, healthcare providers and community organisations.
• Resilience, confidence and the ability to use personal experience positively in a professional setting.
• Organised, flexible approach with ability to manage a varied workload.
• Commitment to equality, inclusion and person‑centred support.

Required skills

• Fixed‑term contract covering maternity leave (approximately 6 weeks).
• Salary £26,000 per annum.
