Peer Supporter Coordinator – Prison Substance Misuse Service

About the role
Join a dedicated team delivering substance‑misuse support within HMP Send and HMP Coldingley. As a Peer Supporter Coordinator you will work 17.5 hours per week across the Surrey region, helping adults in custody build confidence, improve wellbeing and support each other on their recovery journeys.
Key responsibilities
- Recruit, train and supervise Peer Supporters and Health & Wellbeing Champions.
- Develop and coordinate peer‑led interventions and recovery programmes in prison settings.
- Build positive relationships with service users, prison staff and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Champion health, wellbeing and recovery initiatives, including awareness events.
- Monitor outcomes, maintain accurate records and produce regular reports.
- Act as the primary contact for peer supporters across the service.
Required profile
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Passion for recovery, wellbeing and person‑centred support.
- Ability to motivate and inspire others toward positive outcomes.
- Organised, proactive and capable of managing competing priorities.
- Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
