Penetration Tester – Cyber Security Consultancy

About the role

Join a well‑established cyber security consultancy in Bristol, delivering high‑end penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and red‑team services to critical sectors such as telecoms, finance, defence, rail and aerospace. You will work on complex, high‑stakes engagements for national infrastructure and global enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute penetration tests across networks, systems and applications.
• Perform detailed vulnerability assessments, security audits and risk analyses.
• Produce clear, client‑ready reports with remediation guidance and risk ratings.
• Collaborate with the red‑team to run realistic attack simulations.
• Develop and use exploitation tools to demonstrate real‑world impact.
• Act as the primary client contact for scoping, presenting results and advising on security improvements.
• Stay current with emerging threats, testing techniques and refine methodologies.
• Contribute to project and client management throughout engagement delivery.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security or a related discipline.
• CREST Registered Tester or equivalent recognised certification.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on penetration testing and vulnerability assessment experience.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems and core security technologies.
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
