Pension De-Risking Project Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead pension de‑risking projects for a global financial services organisation. The role will be based in Bristol and operates in a flexible hybrid model, reporting to the client director and acting as the main point of contact for high‑profile client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage de‑risking client relationships for high‑profile and escalated projects.
• Support the client director and serve as the central guidance hub.
• Prepare costings for new and pipeline work across the De‑risking teams.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks in pension scheme data that could affect delivery.
• Review processes, propose improvements and discuss them with the Operational Director.
• Monitor budget risks, escalating issues with clear remediation plans.
• Lead projects to ensure tasks meet agreed timescales and quality standards.
• Negotiate requirements, deadlines and budgets with client directors.
• Participate in project kick‑off and review meetings.
• Develop flexible communication methods to support client reporting.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Defined Benefit / Defined Contribution pension schemes.
• Proven experience leading client‑focused projects.
• Ability to design and implement process improvements.
• Advanced process awareness and analytical aptitude.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving capability and adaptability.
