People Advisor – Scotland (HR)

About the role

The RNLI is seeking a People Advisor to support its Scottish region. Reporting to the Regional People Lead, you will work closely with the Volunteer Advisor and the wider People Team to deliver high‑quality HR services for both employees and volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate HR transactions including pay, reward, policy, sick absence, occupational health and recruitment.
• Build trusted relationships across the region and resolve people matters swiftly to support operational excellence.
• Collaborate with the Volunteering Adviser and central teams to develop and implement policy and process improvements.
• Maintain People systems, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.
• Lead or contribute to projects focused on talent development and organisational improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience advising managers on HR policy and people‑management issues.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced operational environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and experience updating policies accordingly.
• Relevant degree, CIPD qualification or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel within Scotland (limited travel, reimbursed).
