People Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development professional to build and lead a company‑wide people development strategy. Reporting to a Director, you will shape learning programmes, leadership development and career pathways for a well‑established UK business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver and evaluate learning and development programmes across the organisation.
• Lead leadership development, succession planning and career pathway initiatives.
• Conduct training needs analysis and work with managers to build capability.
• Oversee apprenticeship and graduate schemes and manage external training providers.
• Use data and insights to measure learning outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
• Build and potentially lead a small L&D team as the function grows.

Required profile

• Proven experience in designing, delivering and evaluating L&D programmes.
• Background in leadership development, talent management and succession planning.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
• Ability to use data to assess learning impact.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Relevant qualification in Learning & Development, HR or equivalent experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
