People Engagement and Development Partner

About the role

We are seeking an experienced People and Culture professional to join our small but impactful charity. In this role you will shape the employee experience, strengthen engagement, and support managers throughout the full employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver employee engagement initiatives across the charity.
• Partner with managers to improve team culture, communication and staff wellbeing.
• Coordinate learning and development opportunities that enable staff growth.
• Provide guidance and first‑line advisory support on people‑related matters.
• Lead projects that reinforce organisational values and culture.
• Support internal communications that foster connection and collaboration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR generalist or people‑focused roles, ideally with CIPD Level 5.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and charity‑sector HR dynamics.
• Experience designing and implementing full life‑cycle people processes (recruitment, onboarding, performance, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to coach and build confident managers.
• Collaborative, proactive attitude with excellent relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK employment legislation.
• Understanding of employee engagement and learning development principles.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £45,000 and £52,000 per year.
