People Partner – HR Business Partner

About the role

SGN is seeking a proactive People Partner to join its HR team in Scotland. You will work closely with operational managers across Edinburgh, Dundee and other sites, helping to create a positive employee relations climate and drive engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, performance and absence management.
• Provide expert advice to managers on HR policies, procedures and employment law compliance.
• Coach and train managers on performance management, absence handling and other HR topics.
• Support senior People Partners with project coordination during organisational restructuring.
• Collaborate with trade union partners to strengthen relationships.
• Maintain accurate employee records, produce HR metrics and ensure GDPR compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a People Partner, HR Manager or Employee Relations Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience handling employee relations cases and advising senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a unionised, multi‑site, field‑based environment.
