People Project Manager – HR Change Projects

About the role

United Utilities is embarking on AMP8, its next major phase of growth and innovation. We are looking for a seasoned People Project Manager to lead complex, high‑impact HR change programmes and drive successful transformation across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver HR workstreams of business change projects from initiation through to closure.
• Manage TUPE transfers, restructures, changes to working practices and new ways of working.
• Collaborate with specialist HR teams (Reward, L&D, HRBPs) to ensure seamless implementation.
• Run consultation activities and build strong relationships with trade unions and key stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies throughout project delivery.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert, providing guidance on complex HR matters.

Required profile

• In‑depth experience managing HR projects such as TUPE, restructures, reward and terms & conditions.
• Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
• Proven experience working in unionised environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• CIPD qualified Level 5.
