People Relations Advisor – HR Specialist

About the role

Drax is building a forward‑thinking People & Culture team and is looking for a People Relations Advisor to join the newly formed group in Ipswich. You will work closely with managers and senior leaders, providing expert employee‑relations advice and helping to shape a positive, high‑performing workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on a broad range of employee‑relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases.
• Manage a varied caseload and support managers through case meetings, both remotely and on‑site.
• Partner with leaders to influence decisions, ensure consistent policy application and compliance with employment legislation.
• Analyse case trends and people data to identify improvement opportunities and proactive interventions.
• Deliver coaching, training and practical HR solutions to enhance managers’ people‑management capability.
• Contribute to People Relations strategy, policy reviews and continuous improvement of HR processes.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a People Relations or Employee Relations focused role.
• Proven ability to manage complex cases and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice HR policies.
• Excellent analytical, communication and relationship‑building skills.
