About the role
As a member of Apple’s Silicon Technologies group, you will help design and manufacture next‑generation, power‑efficient processors. The role focuses on performance analysis and tuning of Apple’s GPU across a range of products, collaborating with hardware and software teams to deliver high‑performance graphics.
Key responsibilities
- Develop performance test plans to validate GPU performance.
- Analyse performance issues using micro‑benchmarks and real‑world content such as games and professional applications.
- Identify hardware and software bottlenecks and propose optimisation solutions.
- Quantify the performance benefit of new features and algorithms implemented in hardware and software.
- Create tools and visualisation techniques to measure, communicate, and improve GPU performance.
Required profile
- Architecture knowledge of at least one major SoC component (GPU, CPU, interconnect, or memory hierarchy).
- Strong hardware and software debugging skills.
- Proven data‑analysis ability to relate performance data to hardware behaviour.
- Experience working in a multi‑site team, planning tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and self‑motivation.
- Preferred: prior experience in performance analysis of complex systems, GPU architecture expertise, and knowledge of hardware design trade‑offs.
