Peripatetic Care Assistant

About the role

As a Peripatetic Care Assistant you will travel across a 20‑mile radius to provide warm, empathetic support to residents in Barchester care homes. You will help residents enjoy meaningful one‑to‑one time with a focus on their wellbeing and independence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred care and companionship to residents across multiple sites.
• Monitor and record observations such as temperature and blood pressure.
• Contribute to care planning and ensure delivery of care during your shifts.
• Provide support and encouragement, fostering a respectful and caring environment.
• Travel between locations, using your own vehicle or company‑provided transport, with mileage reimbursement beyond five miles.

Required profile

• Previous experience in care, preferably with elderly residents.
• Understanding of health and social care practices; Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care is advantageous.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Dedicated, compassionate attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for residents.
• Access to a car or reliable transport for travel between homes.
