Peripatetic Chef – Care Home Kitchen Support

About the role

We are seeking a Peripatetic Chef to provide culinary support across several care homes in West and Central Fife. Based at Oakbank Care Home in Crieff, you will travel to sites in Perth, Dundee, Crieff and Livingston, delivering high‑quality, nutritious meals for residents while covering staff absences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve balanced meals in multiple care‑home kitchens, adapting to each site’s equipment and team.
• Cover annual leave and sickness for existing kitchen staff, ensuring continuity of service.
• Assist with menu planning, stock control and ordering to meet resident dietary needs.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and health‑and‑safety standards in all locations.
• Provide guidance and support to kitchen teams, promoting consistent best practices.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a chef in a professional kitchen.
• Ability to work independently across several sites.
• Full, valid driving licence.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 (or equivalent) and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, or be working towards them.
• Flexible, reliable approach with strong organisational skills.

• £16.64 per hour, 40 hours per week (four 10‑hour shifts).
