Perishable Warehouse Operative

About the role

We are seeking a Perishable Warehouse Operative to join a leading ground handling team at Heathrow Airport. You will work in a temperature‑controlled warehouse handling a range of perishable cargo, ensuring safe and efficient movement of goods for airline partners.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload vehicles carrying perishable items, such as fish, using a forklift and other mechanical equipment.
• Perform manual handling tasks where required.
• Use hand‑held devices to locate, identify and record cargo.
• Process paperwork in line with client requirements.
• Assist in building and breaking Unit Load Devices (ULDs) such as PAGs, PMCs and AKEs.
• Inspect incoming cargo for discrepancies, damage or other concerns.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a temperature‑controlled warehouse environment.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment checks, including a 5‑year employment/education history and DBS check.

Required skills

• Counterbalance forklift operation.

What we offer

• Salary £32,000‑£33,000 per year.
• Full forklift training provided.
• Shift pattern: 4 days on/4 days off, covering both day (06:30‑18:30) and night (18:30‑06:30) shifts.
