Personal & Mixed Tax Senior – Maidstone

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Personal or Mixed Tax Senior to join our independent accountancy practice in Maidstone. You will manage a varied portfolio of private clients, providing high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services in a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients from onboarding through to completion.
• Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns.
• Advise clients on personal tax planning, including capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters.
• Handle HMRC correspondence and enquiries.
• Monitor deadlines to ensure accurate and timely compliance work.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Support junior team members as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and add value for clients.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a personal tax role within an accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK personal tax compliance.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• ATT qualification (part‑qualified or qualified by experience) is advantageous.
• Experience of corporate tax compliance is beneficial but not essential.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Self Assessment tax return preparation.
• Understanding of capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning.
