Personal Tax Assistant Manager

About the role

Join a well‑established independent accountancy practice in Edinburgh as a Personal Tax Assistant Manager. You will manage a diverse portfolio of private clients, families and entrepreneurs, delivering high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns for individuals and high‑net‑worth clients.
• Manage client correspondence and act as the primary point of contact.
• Liaise with HMRC on compliance matters and queries.
• Support a broad range of personal tax issues, including capital gains and inheritance tax.
• Contribute to the growth of the tax department while developing technical expertise.

Required profile

• Previous personal tax experience within an accountancy practice.
• Ability to manage own workload and client relationships independently.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and proactive client service.
• Current role as Tax Assistant, Tax Semi‑Senior or Personal Tax Senior.
• ATT, CTA studies or equivalent experience advantageous.
