About the role

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a forward‑thinking accountancy and tax advisory practice in Watford to hire a Personal Tax Manager. The role combines technical tax expertise with a client‑focused approach, supporting both compliance and advisory projects for a diverse portfolio of individuals, partnerships and trusts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate service.
• Prepare and review personal, partnership and trust tax returns, including complex cases.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and support the implementation of tailored solutions.
• Liaise directly with clients, building long‑term relationships and handling HMRC enquiries.
• Review and guide the work of junior team members, maintaining high technical and compliance standards.

Required profile

• CTA qualified (or equivalent) with proven experience in personal or private client tax.
• Strong knowledge of UK tax compliance and planning.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and supervising junior staff.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, organised and commercially aware.

Required skills

• Proficient use of tax software and related systems.
