Personal Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join our Family & Wealth team in Bolton. This senior, client‑facing advisory position will manage a portfolio of high‑net‑worth and internationally mobile individuals, delivering strategic tax advice and leading complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare advisory reports, lead client calls and advise on UK tax matters for internationally mobile HNWIs.
• Support Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Business Property Relief (BPR) reviews, providing technical analysis for director sign‑off.
• Coordinate international tax issues with overseas contacts and manage UK tax residence planning.
• Assist with family wealth structuring, business exit planning and cross‑border tax solutions.
• Act as technical reviewer for personal tax work, ensuring high‑quality output from junior staff.
• Oversee project workflow, monitor WIP, recoveries and billing, and prepare scopes and fee quotes.

Required profile

• CTA qualified (or equivalent experience) with a strong private client background.
• Proven experience advising high‑net‑worth and internationally mobile clients.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting and defending technical conclusions.
