Personal Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager to lead complex personal tax compliance and advisory work within a fast‑growing firm. Based in Glasgow, you will oversee service delivery, manage key client relationships and support the development of junior talent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of personal tax compliance services, including self‑assessment and VAT matters.
• Manage client relationships, providing technical and planning advice.
• Deliver advisory assignments as part of multidisciplinary teams and identify additional value opportunities.
• Coach and develop junior team members, sharing expertise on compliance and advisory work.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency.
• Contribute to a collaborative, high‑standard team culture.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in personal tax compliance, advisory or planning.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead or mentor teams.
• Strong understanding of UK tax legislation, including PAYE, self‑assessment and VAT.
• Alignment with values of integrity, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Relevant professional qualification (ATT, CTA, CA) is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience using tax software tools.
