Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Dispensing Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

Join ASDA’s in‑store pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Dispensing Assistant (ACDA). Working part‑time on a permanent basis, you will help ensure medicines are dispensed safely and accurately for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform final accuracy checks on medicines that have been clinically reviewed by a pharmacist.
• Verify patient details, medication type, dosage, labelling and packaging.
• Report any medication errors or incidents promptly.
• Conduct regular audits of dispensary stock levels.
• Supervise and guide pharmacy assistants to follow correct dispensing procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of all activities.
• Support the pharmacist with patient services such as blood pressure checks and smoking cessation schemes.
• Promote additional pharmacy services (e.g., New Medicine Service, online doctor).

Required profile

• At least 6 months continuous employment in a pharmacy setting (hospital or community).
• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or Dispensing Assistant, completed via a GPhC‑accredited route.
• Successful enhanced safeguarding check.
• Friendly, highly organised and able to work flexibly, including weekends.
