Physical Health Lead Nurse (RGN) – London

About the role

The Physical Health Lead Nurse (RGN) will oversee physical health practice across two Cygnet sites – Cygnet Hospital Ealing and Cygnet Lodge Lewisham. Working a standard 40‑hour week, you will lead initiatives that integrate physical health monitoring, infection control and health promotion into daily patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, lead and coordinate evidence‑based physical health initiatives across both sites.
• Monitor and record patients' physical health, including annual health checks, in partnership with ward doctors and fellow Physical Health Lead Nurses.
• Lead infection‑control practice in line with national clinical standards.
• Develop and deliver health‑promotion and education programmes together with the dietician.
• Coordinate physical health screening programmes, including cervical screening for female patients.
• Collaborate closely with ward doctors, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required profile

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with experience in GP surgery or general hospital outpatient clinics.
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary health initiatives.
• Strong collaborative skills and the capacity to work across two separate sites.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and continuous quality improvement.
