Physical Training Specialist – HMNB Clyde

About the role
The Physical Training Specialist will be based at HMNB Clyde, supporting the Royal Navy’s Submarine Service. You will motivate Service Personnel, deliver high‑quality fitness programmes and contribute to the Live Well strategy, ensuring operational readiness and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective physical training sessions, fitness tests and recreational activities for Service Personnel and lodger units.
- Support the daily operation of gym facilities, including fitness classes, circuits and duty‑staff rotas.
- Contribute to adventurous training and challenging activities, using relevant qualifications to broaden participation.
- Act as a qualified Lifeguard when required, supervising pool activities in line with departmental procedures.
- Maintain high safety standards by conducting and reviewing risk assessments and adhering to all policies and procedures.
Required profile
- Enthusiastic and driven individual with a passion for motivating others.
- Ability to work in a military environment and support operational readiness.
- Willingness to work a 37‑hour week on‑site at HMNB Clyde.
Required skills
- Qualified Lifeguard certification.
- Relevant physical training qualifications (e.g., PT instructor, adventurous training).
