Pipefitter – Glasgow (Onsite)

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join its team working on high‑profile defence projects across the Clyde. The role involves fabricating, installing and maintaining pipework systems on vessels and industrial sites.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and install pipework using copper, cuni, carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Cut, bend and weld pipes with hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Install utilities aboard ships, including sinks, showers and toilets.
• Fit and assemble valves, fittings and related components according to drawings.
• Collaborate with other trades to ensure timely project completion.
• Maintain accurate records and adhere to safety regulations.

Required profile

• Modern Apprenticeship or Trade Papers (SVQ3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience in pipe manufacture and installation on major projects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, pipework diagrams and technical specifications.
• Understanding of SHE, COSHH and risk‑assessment requirements.
• Previous work as a Pipefitter or in a similar trade within an industrial or commercial environment.
