About the role

Join Bournemouth & Poole College as a Placement Coordinator – Construction, helping students secure valuable industry placements that build confidence and employability. This full‑time, fixed‑term role works closely with employers, curriculum teams, students and parents to create high‑quality placement opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with construction employers to source placements.
• Support students with placement preparation, including CV development and employability skills.
• Match students to suitable placement opportunities aligned with their career goals.
• Monitor student progress and provide ongoing support throughout placements.
• Conduct placement visits to ensure a safe and positive experience.
• Ensure all placements meet safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records using college systems and employer CRM platforms.
• Collaborate with curriculum teams to enhance student outcomes and progression opportunities.

• Excellent communicator with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Passionate about supporting young people and improving employability.
• Comfortable engaging with employers, students, parents and colleagues at all levels.
• Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
