Planned Maintenance Manager (Temporary)

About the role

This temporary position supports a local authority in Gloucestershire by leading the property services team responsible for planned maintenance and capital investment programmes. The role is focused on delivering high‑quality work on time, within budget, and in line with health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of surveyors, technical assistants and external contractors.
• Oversee delivery of planned maintenance and capital investment projects, ensuring they meet schedule and budget targets.
• Monitor contractor performance, quality, compliance and health & safety standards.
• Track budgets, financial performance and programme delivery.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, residents, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with housing legislation, building regulations and organisational policies.
• Produce performance reports, analyse data and identify service‑improvement opportunities.
• Promote excellent customer service throughout all planned works.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing maintenance teams in a housing or property services environment.
• Strong understanding of planned maintenance, capital investment programmes and budgeting.
• Knowledge of health and safety, compliance and relevant housing legislation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Hybrid working model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).
• Daily rate of £350‑£400 (inside IR35) for a six‑month contract, with potential extension.
