Planned Maintenance Operative

About the role

The Planned Maintenance Operative will deliver all aspects of the water hygiene programme for customers across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North East. Working from a company vehicle, you will carry out sampling, cleaning, inspections and basic building checks while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Planned and reactive maintenance tasks, meeting service level agreements.
• Routine water hygiene monitoring, including temperature checks and sampling.
• Inspection of tank and pipework insulation.
• Shower cleaning and disinfection, flushing of expansion vessels when required.
• Thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) maintenance, cleaning, temperature verification and replacement.
• Basic building inspections such as emergency lights, fire extinguishers and weekly fire alarm testing.
• Health & safety compliance by following risk assessments and method statements.
• Liaising with customers daily to gain access and minimise disruption.
• Supporting other business areas as needed and keeping paperwork up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• Enhanced DBS check cleared.
• Good understanding of hot and cold‑water systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Positive, professional attitude with strong organisational skills.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to prioritise a variety of tasks and work flexibly, including occasional out‑of‑hours work.
• Working knowledge of current health and safety practice.
