Planner – Repairs & Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Planner to join our local repairs team, ensuring repair works are scheduled efficiently and completed to a high standard. The role acts as a key liaison between residents, operatives, subcontractors and internal colleagues, supporting a customer‑focused repairs service.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and plan repair works, optimising operatives and resources.
• Use the MCM system to manage appointments, update job statuses and monitor progress.
• Track overdue tasks and help the team meet performance targets and KPIs.
• Coordinate operatives and subcontractors to ensure timely, fully equipped job completion.
• Communicate with residents to provide updates and manage expectations.
• Identify and escalate operational issues, monitor workloads and plan cover for absences and holidays.
• Allocate work to subcontractors and raise material orders following procurement procedures.
• Maintain accurate records across IT systems, PDAs and subcontractor portals.
• Deliver a professional, courteous, customer‑focused service while adhering to health and safety policies.
• Support colleagues, provide cover for other planners and attend meetings and training sessions.

Required profile

• Experience in a planning, scheduling or coordination role within repairs, maintenance or a similar environment.
• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑driven setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MCM planning system.
• Competence in using IT systems, PDAs and subcontractor portals.

• Annual salary of £30,458.75.
• 42.5‑hour work week, Monday‑Friday.
