Planner – Repairs Scheduling

About the role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Planner to join Mears Group’s local repairs team. The role involves scheduling repairs efficiently, allocating work to operatives, and ensuring jobs are completed quickly to a high standard.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule operatives and subcontractors to maximise resource utilisation and meet repair deadlines.
• Monitor and update repair jobs daily, including appointments, follow‑on works and overdue tasks.
• Support operatives in using PDAs and ensure schedule of rates are entered correctly in IT systems.
• Communicate professionally with residents, operatives and stakeholders to keep them informed.
• Collaborate with administrators, supervisors and contractors to deliver a seamless service.
• Cover for other planners, attend meetings and training as required.
• Assist with reporting, KPI monitoring and performance analysis.
• Prioritise emergency and urgent jobs to minimise resident disruption.
• Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.
• Provide general administrative support and handle call‑centre enquiries.

Required profile

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Experience in a similar planning or scheduling role within repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, pressurised environment.
• Customer‑first attitude with strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of repairs and maintenance processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with job management and scheduling software.
• Experience using ICT appointing tools.
• Strong IT skills, including PDA usage.

• Annual salary up to £29,303.90.
