Planning Engineer – Glasgow

About the role

We are looking for a Planning Engineer to join our fast‑growing consultancy in Glasgow. You will work within a highly regarded planning team, supporting a diverse portfolio of construction, infrastructure and renewables projects across their full lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes.
• Provide planning support across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and delivery challenges.
• Update programmes, produce progress reports and analyse performance.
• Contribute to programme reviews, sequencing and construction methodology.
• Assist with risk identification and mitigation planning.
• Produce clear, professional planning outputs and reports for clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience working within the UK construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques and methodologies.
• Experience across sectors such as construction, infrastructure and/or renewables.
• Confident client‑facing communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Well‑organised with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities across different projects.
