Planning Manager – UK Defence (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a Planning Manager to lead the planning function on UK defence construction projects. The role combines traditional planning expertise with a pragmatic use of technology to ensure schedules align with day‑to‑day delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve project schedules for complex defence builds.
• Translate high‑level programme targets into detailed, executable work packages.
• Coordinate with design, procurement and site teams to ensure realistic delivery dates.
• Identify and mitigate schedule risks using common‑sense analysis and digital tools.
• Provide clear, transparent reporting to clients and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction planning, preferably on large‑scale or defence projects.
• Strong understanding of the link between schedule and on‑site execution.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
