Plant Engineer (VIE) – UK

About the role

The Plant Engineer will support the tower crane manager in planning, maintaining and overseeing a wide range of plant equipment used on construction sites across the UK. This includes tower cranes, gantry cranes, overhead cranes, concrete plants and various pumping and lifting machines. The role is based on‑site and works closely with production, methods and logistics teams to ensure equipment availability, safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the organization, assembly, disassembly and commissioning of tower, gantry and overhead cranes.
• Monitor maintenance, servicing, repairs and modifications of all plant equipment.
• Define and implement maintenance schedules and procedures together with the tower crane manager.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, replenishment and stock control.
• Record inspections, certifications and renewals in the CMMS (GMAO) database.
• Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports on equipment performance and lifting efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety systems (Bylor) and promote a zero‑accident culture.
• Collaborate with Production Managers and Methods Department to align procedures with project requirements.

Required profile

• General mechanical and electrical background (LV, HV) complying with European standards.
• Strong curiosity, rigor and communication abilities.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Ability to lead working groups and manage multiple tasks within a project.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT hardware and software.
• Advanced skills in MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with CMMS/GMAO systems.
