Plant Fitter – Rotating Shift – £46k-£48.5k

About the role

We are supporting a long‑established industrial business in North Bristol that operates a large‑scale, safety‑critical environment. As a Plant Fitter you will join an experienced engineering team to keep a diverse fleet of mobile plant running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs on mobile plant such as forklift trucks, loading shovels and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical faults, work on hydraulics, diesel engines and vehicle electrical systems.
• Complete maintenance documentation and liaise with operations to maximise equipment availability.
• Participate in a 12‑week rotating shift pattern, including night shifts and overtime.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 or recognised apprenticeship in Plant, Vehicle or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience maintaining mobile plant, forklift trucks, HGVs or similar equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding ability and good understanding of hydraulics, diesel engines and vehicle electrical systems.
• Full UK driving licence and flexible approach to shift work.
