Plant Hire Compliance Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Plant Hire Compliance Controller to join our rapidly expanding plant hire department. You will oversee thousands of assets across the UK, ensuring compliance, maintenance and timely availability to meet weekly operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day operations of the Plant Compliance Department.
• Maintain the asset management system with up‑to‑date compliance documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers to schedule servicing, raise purchase orders and monitor SLA performance.
• Process damage orders and coordinate with the Compliance Manager.
• Collaborate with internal teams to verify data integrity and prevent discrepancies.
• Track asset downtime and implement corrective actions to minimize impact.
• Generate regular compliance reports for management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a plant hire or workshop environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective decision‑making and time‑management skills.
• Familiarity with utilities sector is a plus.
• Ability to travel to sites and supplier locations as needed.
• Proficient in using procurement and asset tracking software.
