Platform Architect (Hybrid – Leeds)

About the role

An established enterprise organisation is seeking a Platform Architect to own and evolve core infrastructure platforms. The role bridges architecture and engineering, offering a senior professional the chance to shape strategic direction while staying hands‑on with technology.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for Microsoft 365, cloud, virtualisation, networking and related platforms.
• Produce high‑level and detailed designs for infrastructure projects.
• Guide technical teams to deliver solutions that follow best practices.
• Identify and drive platform improvement and modernisation initiatives.
• Support cloud migration and overall infrastructure transformation.
• Ensure platforms remain secure, resilient and scalable.
• Act as escalation point for complex platform issues.
• Collaborate with vendors and third‑party suppliers as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Platform Architect, Infrastructure Architect, Technical Design Authority or Senior Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong understanding of enterprise‑wide infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience across Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, virtualisation and networking.
• Ability to create technical designs and comprehensive documentation.
• Experience working with multiple IT stakeholders.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
