Plumbing & Heating Engineer – Schools (Multi‑Academy Trust)

About the role

This is a permanent, full‑time position within a newly formed Multi‑Academy Trust that operates three specialist SEN schools across five sites. You will be the dedicated in‑house plumbing specialist, responsible for keeping the schools safe, functional and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing and mechanical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across five school sites.
• Maintain domestic water, heating and sanitation systems.
• Support specialist facilities such as hydrotherapy pools and splash pools.
• Manage legionella compliance, temperature checks and water‑system monitoring.
• Service thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) and point‑of‑use water heaters.
• Participate in wider building maintenance projects and compliance activities.

Required profile

• Qualified plumber with experience in commercial, facilities, healthcare, education or building services environments.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of a whole estates function.
• Commitment to long‑term stability and delivering high‑quality service to vulnerable students.

Required skills

• Plumbing maintenance, fault finding and installations.
• Domestic water, heating and sanitation system knowledge.
• Legionella risk assessment and temperature monitoring.
• Experience with hydrotherapy and splash pool systems.
• Servicing thermostatic mixing valves (TMVs) and point‑of‑use water heaters.
