Portfolio Financial Controller

About the role

The Portfolio Financial Controller will act as the bridge between the group finance function and the finance leaders of multiple operating companies. You will ensure high‑quality, timely reporting and drive improvements in financial processes as the platform expands.

Key responsibilities

• Own a reliable, timely month‑end close for a portfolio of operating companies, meeting group standards.
• Ensure reporting complies with group policy, resolve technical judgments, and coordinate with external accountants on new standards.
• Review monthly reports with finance leads and managing directors before submission to the group.
• Implement a forecasting and management tool that each operating company can own.
• Transform financial data into actionable FP&A insights and performance opportunities.
• Lead acquisition accounting for new businesses joining the group.

Required profile

• Big 4‑trained with a strong technical finance foundation.
• Hands‑on experience in an SME environment.
• Proven experience owning month‑end close and strong exposure to UK GAAP.
• Track record building and running cash forecasts and working‑capital tools.
• Natural influencer able to prioritize across multiple businesses.
• Exposure to M&A accounting.
