Portfolio Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Portfolio Manager on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to oversee discretionary portfolios for our client base in Bristol. The role ensures portfolios are implemented and maintained in line with the firm’s investment strategy and delivers consistent, high‑quality outcomes at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage discretionary portfolios across the client base, ensuring consistency of outcomes.
• Conduct regular client portfolio reviews to verify alignment with mandates, risk profiles and the firm’s investment views.
• Deliver timely portfolio reviews as part of agreed workflows or in response to specific client or investment solution requests.
• Monitor portfolio risks, deviations and performance, taking corrective action when required.
• Own cyclical processes such as annual Capital Gains Tax management and ISA subscriptions, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and drive improvements in process efficiency, scalability and client outcomes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market conditions, asset allocation views and investment research, contributing ideas to enhance portfolio positioning.
• Lead portfolio management projects and support the development of tools, processes and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• Proactive, commercially minded investment professional with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
• Experience in portfolio management, discretionary investment management or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of investment markets, asset allocation and portfolio risk.
• Sound judgement and confidence to contribute to portfolio management projects and wider business initiatives.
