Post Doc Business Development Consultant – Medical Devices

About the role

This full‑time position places you at the heart of medical‑device innovation in Cambridge. You will work closely with cutting‑edge organisations developing advanced surgical, wearable, implantable and diagnostic technologies, helping them translate early concepts into market‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage potential clients in the medical‑device sector, building trusted relationships through face‑to‑face meetings.
• Understand complex scientific and engineering challenges and articulate how Newton Colmore can add value.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary internal teams to shape compelling proposals and commercial agreements.
• Manage a pipeline of opportunities from concept through to commercial launch.
• Contribute to go‑to‑market strategies and negotiate partnership terms.

Required profile

• PhD or post‑doctoral experience in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
• Proven ability to secure research funding and write technically grounded proposals.
• Strong commercial awareness, curiosity and ability to grasp new technologies quickly.
• Excellent communication skills, empathy and confidence to travel for client meetings.

Required skills

• Technical credibility in medical‑device science or engineering.
