Postal Delivery Driver – Alnwick

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Alnwick, delivering letters and parcels to homes and businesses across the community. You’ll work a rotating shift pattern, including weekends, and be the friendly face that brings important items to customers each day.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Alnwick Delivery Office.
• Deliver mail by van and on foot, covering up to 12 miles (20,000+ steps) per shift.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, providing reliable service.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling high volumes during peak periods.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including lifting mailbags of 10 kg or more.

Required profile

• Valid full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Ability to pass a Royal Mail driving assessment.
• Physically fit for long walks, climbing stairs/hills and lifting heavy mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills
