Postal Delivery Driver – Basingstoke (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Basingstoke and become the friendly face that brings letters and parcels to local homes and businesses. This fixed‑term position offers a rotating shift pattern, including weekends, and provides full training, a uniform and an iconic red van.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Basingstoke delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the assigned local area.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling high volumes of mail and parcels.

Required profile

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physical fitness to walk up to 12 miles per day, climb stairs or hills, and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliability, self‑motivation and strong organisational skills.
• Customer‑focused attitude with pride in delivering great service.
