Postal Delivery Driver – Edinburgh

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver in Edinburgh, delivering letters and parcels to your local community. You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, and represent the trusted face of the service.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Edinburgh South East Delivery Office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout your assigned route.
• Build relationships with customers and provide friendly service.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling up to 12 miles of walking per shift.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and follow health‑and‑safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Ability to pass a Royal Mail driving assessment.
• Physically fit – comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
