Postal Delivery Driver – Edinburgh (Part‑time/Fixed‑term)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver (Postie) in Edinburgh, working a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends and Sundays. You will be the face of the service, delivering letters and parcels to the local community while enjoying the benefits of a part‑time, fixed‑term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot within the assigned Edinburgh area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent Royal Mail’s trusted service.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including weekends and Sundays.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your name and address.
• Physically fit – able to walk up to 12 miles (20,000+ steps) and lift/carry 10 kg mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Driving a van safely and passing a driving assessment.
