Postal Delivery Driver – Fixed Term (9 months)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver (often called a "Postie") in Bethnal Green. You will be the face of the service, delivering letters and parcels to the local community on a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Bethnal Green delivery office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent Royal Mail professionally.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, handling a high volume of mail and parcels.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit – able to walk up to 12 miles, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry mailbags of 10 kg or more.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Customer‑focused with pride in delivering great service.
