Postal Delivery Driver – Fixed‑Term (6 months)

About the role

Join Royal Mail as a Postal Delivery Driver (often called a "Postie") in Bristol. You will be the face of a trusted service, delivering letters and parcels to homes and businesses while working on a rotating shift schedule that includes weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Sort letters and parcels at the Bristol East Central Delivery Office.
• Deliver post by van and on foot throughout the local area.
• Build relationships with customers and represent the Royal Mail brand.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Handle a variety of items, from exam results to birthday cards and business orders.

Required profile

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address).
• Willingness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit – able to walk up to 12 miles, climb stairs/hills and lift/carry 10 kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong organisational skills and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
